Yes, correct, the today’s article is about Geography 101. I know that some of my readers have learnt Geography in school last time. But then, please bear with me as I’m welcoming you to see the not so different perspective of digital world via Google Earth. It’s fascinating you know… Yup, I know that some of you are already experts in using Google Earth, so please don’t bother the other new learners… Have no worry, no fee will be charged, as this is part of the distance learning process, lah!
Well, do enjoy yourselves and take a peep into some of satellite images that I’ve prepared for this article.
Mugabe, Harare, Zimbabwe...
What a beautiful councontry… Yes, this is a satellite image of Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. That’s why I put Harare’s digital clock in my previous blog, so that whenever you look at your laptop/desktop clock, definitely you’ll know the exact time in Harare, lah! But unfortunately, the digital clock is not working at the moment! The development team representative has told me that their “flashy” software (i.e. Adobe Flash CS3 or CS4) is currently incompatible for WORDPRESS.COM! Duh… So please bear with me, in case it might work (well) in the near future! Anyway, if you’re interested to invest in Zimbabwe, kindly contact its embassy a.s.a.p. This is the only councontry where you too can make a fortune and become (instant) millionaire(s)! I’m not sure whether its KL embassy office is still functioning or not. Anyway, I have no idea where Mr. Moo-Gabrielle is currently residing… L.O.L.!!!
Yes, a satellite image of Simunjan (and partly shown Sebuyau), Sarawak. No wonder, the Simunjan Oil Palm King is amassing his wealth from here, as we can see the vast track of native land that was converted into oil palm plantations! Damn…

A satellite image on the infamous dump site in Kuching… Thanks, but no thanks, as this is the worst ever project that has been created – by the Dayak politician(s), especially for the Dayak masses!
Yeah, correct! Another mega project in the making – the infamous Bengoh Damn and Kampong Toon Ransack – shown at an eye altitude of 34.62 km above the ground.
Yes, this is the area where lots of “green back” are to be made...
The satellite image resolution/definition, however, is not too clear, so that’s why those locations are merely “My call main-main agak-agak” (presumed locations)… Here you can see a vast track of native land, connecting Penrissen-Padawan area and Bau area. Yes, correct, this area is going to be converted into an oil palm plantation in the near future. The green area denotes “green back” by some politicians – in the form of timber, my friends! A halal hub (for water supply) for Kuchingites via Batu Kitang Water Treatment Plant? My foot! There will be so much -cide (weedicide, pesticide, feticide, regicide, genocide – you name it!) to be caused by that water supply in the future once the large scale plantation project is commenced!
So, if you’re one of those Dayak’s wannabe politicians, do Google Earth now, so that you may know which Dayak native land that is still available for your future oil palm plantation venture…
Let’s move on! The following images are astounding, as it will show you the best locations for scuba diving or coral sight-seeing in the world.
Layang-Layang Island...
This is Layang-Layang Island (or Swallow Reef). If you Google Earth for it, try to zoom in as low as you can and you’ll see both military air and naval bases, including a resort.
Another beautiful coral island, The Namyit Island – currently being occupied by the Vietnamese forces…

Well, the infrastructure is superb! Here you can see a well connected buildings with beautiful (man made?) landscape, a waterway leading to a berthing point and a helipad! What a luxury in the South China Sea…
Thitu (Pagasa) Island...
Pagasa or Thitu Island is one of the many tiny islets within the Spratly atoll (?) in the South China Sea. The islet is currently being occupied by the Philippines forces.

Well, it’s quite amazing to know that some people could earn their living in such (a) small islet(s)! I guess that some of you might recall my previous article on “survival skills“. In case if you have forgotten, read it here.
A-haaa… These ones are quite fascinating! Let’s take a (closer) look…
Yeah, you’re right! Changi on the eastern side of Singapore Island. No wonder Singapore is gearing up with its land reclamation projects… Here we can see three air runaways adjacently located to each other.

Two of them belong to Changi International Airport and another one belongs to the Air Force (RSAF). The fighter aircrafts, however, are safely hidden underground. On the south side, you can see the adjacent RSN Naval Base. If you zoom in the image, you’ll see a docked submarine in the dry dock… Wuiyo, canggeh2! What, Pulau Batu Puteh kah?! At the moment the quality of its satellite image is still very poor, lah. Well, you can Google Earth and/or Wiki Search for it.

So, this is ours – The TLDM Lumut Naval Base, next to Pangkor Island, Perak. By zooming in the image, we’ll find Toon Ransack’s son’s hidden treasures – hidden below the sea surface…
You ought to believe that "blood money" was involved in the purchase of these Scorpene subs!
So far, no question (to be asked)? OK, let’s move on with our lecture…
Yup, as I said before, Google Earth is fascinating, even though the satellite images are not updated. Why? Because it is free for public viewing. If you want the updated satellite images, you have to pay for the service – see this for details (including software download).
And then, if you have a Garmin GPSMap 76CSx device or Suunto ABC (Altimeter, Barometer and Compass) wristop, you can trek any place at any time (except on rainy days lah, due to poor satellite signal reception) and reload the trekked data into your laptop/desktop. Using GPS Visualizer software, you’ll get the following images (for example)…
